Music for Memory Care

Stay Connected to the Service WorkÂ
This is not a newsletter. It is a growing group of people who want to bring familiar music into unfamiliar places.
Leave your name and email. I will share next steps, stories, and what we are learning along the way.
Join Me in This
I built this radio with my dad in mind. I wanted something simple he could turn on and just listen to. No apps. No screens. Just familiar music.Â
After sharing the story, people began asking how they could build one for someone in memory care near them. And I realized this doesn’t have to stay personal. It could become something we do together.
I don’t want to build a big organization. I just want a small group of people who care enough to do this well. To sit down first. Listen. Learn what music matters. Then come back ready.
If that sounds like you, leave your name and email below. I’ll share what I’m learning and help you think through how to do this responsibly.
Why This Matters
Memory care can feel quiet. Isolating. Familiar faces begin to fade. Conversations get harder.
But music reaches places words cannot.
A familiar song can unlock a memory. A melody can calm anxiety. A chorus can bring someone back into the room, even if only for a moment.
This service is about creating those moments.
It is about showing up with something simple and letting the music do what it has always done. Connect. Comfort. Remind.
A Simple Way to Begin...
Start With a Conversation
Sit down. Listen. Ask about the music they grew up with. The songs they played in their kitchen. The artists they remember. This begins with presence, not a product.
Customize With Care
Take what you learned and build with intention. Load their favorite songs. Test it. Make sure it feels simple before you walk back through the door.
Set It Up Together
Return ready. Place it by their chair. Turn the knob. Let their music play. Show them how it works. Stay long enough to see their face change.
Support the Project?
This project exists because of hours of testing, failed prints, redesigns, and revisions. If you’ve found it useful and want to support future mounts, PCBs, and new designs, you can contribute here. Every spool helps! 🥰

This project is evolving. When I release new mounts, updated files, PCB revisions, hardware improvements, firmware changes, or entirely new designs, you’ll hear about it first. I’ll also share builder showcases and practical updates that make the radio easier and better to build. No noise. Just relevant information for people actually working on the project.
